What is Fanlight?
Fanlight is a lighthouse puzzle for Playdate. The night the great lens shatters, apprentice keeper Lucie climbs the tower alone.
Place shards of glass, turn them with the crank, and bend, split and join the lamplight until every wick on the floor is burning. A hundred floors across ten rooms, and every room adds one new idea: mirrors, sleeping gulls, oil lamps, moonlight, clockwork, shutters and fog.
How to play
- Place a glass
Move the cursor with the D-pad. Press A to place a glass or pick it back up, and B to switch glass.
- Crank to turn it
Glass turns in 1° steps, with a soft tick every degree and a firmer click every 15°.
- Split and bend
Lens shards split one beam into three. Mirrors bend it: turn one by a degree and the beam swings by two.
- Mind the strength
Every split makes the beam weaker. Big oil lamps need full-strength light, so join thin beams back into one.
- Light every wick
When every wick on the floor burns at once, the prism lights and Lucie carries it up.
- Climb the tower
Ten rooms, a hundred floors, all the way to the great lens at the top.
