What is Beast Duel?
Beast Duel is an animal card duel for Playdate. Play beasts on a 3×3 board, flip your rivals' cards with higher numbers, and hold the most cards when the nine spots fill.
Build a hand of five from 33 beasts across five habitats. Home ground, the type triangle and every beast's ability can turn a battle in one move. Beat eight rivals in the campaign to claim their cards, or pass the Playdate to a friend.
How to play
- Choose your five
Pick five beasts for your hand. Every card has four numbers, one for each side.
- Place a card
Browse your hand with the crank or D-pad. Press A to pick a card, then A again to place it.
- Flip with higher numbers
If your side beats the touching side of a rival card, that card flips to your side. A tie never flips.
- Play the ground
On its home habitat a beast gets +1 on every side. Anywhere else, it gets −1.
- Read the abilities
Press B on a card to read its ability. Types add an edge: Bulwark beats Hunter, Hunter beats Nimble, Nimble beats Bulwark.
- Count to win
When all nine spots are full, whoever holds more cards wins. Beat a campaign rival and claim one of their cards.
